I don't agree, I think we need to have a plan. If the pitcher is throwing first pitch strikes then I want the hitters going after him, but if he is struggling I want them to lay off. A flat don't swing at the first pitch is not a sound policy in my opinion.

Bruce is going to strike out, it's his style, as for Votto, he can swing at any pitch he wants, he is more time then not going to hit the ball, as for Frazier again I think if he feels the pitch is a good one then go after it.

I don't have any issues with going after the first pitch. We don't hit that great and I don't wanna give away strikes. That said, if we do swing at that first pitch at least make sure it's the pitch you want. A lot of our guys go up there hacking at stuff outta the strikezone.
