Not sure why so secretive.....not having Stubbs on the DL was stupid....they'll put Heisey on within 24 hrs or he'll be in there soon.

Just found out...tonights starting CF for your Reds...hold on now...better sit down for this one...HAS A WHOOOOOOPING 3 INNINGS EXPERIENCE AT THAT POSITION. And yet also no word on status of Stubbs or Heisey. How this team is winning with whom is running the show is really mind boggling.

So the opponent won't know that we are likely short on the bench?....I don't get it.

I really doubt there is any other team in MLB that goes willingly into a game against any team with a 22 man roster, and yet here we are, willingly doing it tonight with the Mets. There is NO excuse for this as we have people in AAA that can come up and play. Wonder what happens if we go extra innings...

Keep on Rolling!! Great bounce back from the Sunday night loss. Let's hope BP keeps his hot streak going and we need to jump on these Mets! Take advantage of the fact that we won't face R.A. Dickey or Johan Santana barring some obscure rotation swap.

GO REDS!!!!

Willie Harris. Didn't we catch enough of that act last time around? It must have been that sizzling .245 he put up down at AAA that sealed the deal. As long as Joey Baseball keeps hitting over .500 and Brandon's bat stays hot things will be alright.

IF you are needing a good laugh..here is something from our manager pre game...

"Dusty said on the radio pregame show that his first centerfield option would have been Negron, but he needed some offense up there. I guess he said it with a straight face, but Negron would do much worse than Valdez? And if he really did say “up there” as I think he did, he was pretty much saying whoever was in CF was going to be hitting second in the order. "

Doesn't matter how many pitches he has thrown in the last week, Arroyo no longer has the consistant stamina to grunt out those 100+ pitch games. After 90 pitches, his effectiveness falls off considerably.

Sorry, I read your post completely wrong. I read "Arredondo" since he was in the game at the time.

Regardless, did you really have an issue with him going out for the 7th when he had allowed one run through six and was at 90 pitches? Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I can't really complain about him going out there when we had to use several arms last night.

RedsFanInBama
06-15-2012, 09:35 PM
In reality, Dusty has not tried to push Arroyo much this year. He's only gone over 100 pitches 4 times in 13 starts. So maybe he realizes what you're saying.

That is one great ballpark.

Its nice, they did a good job with a relatively limited budget.
I like Yankee Stadium better. I just feel more comfortable there.

Koosman and Cleon Jones were in the house.

Pirates are four back now. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to get back into first.

It really is all about the pitching. Although that's easy to say the way guys have been swinging the bats. At least we are no longer being dominated by mediocre right handers.
