I regret to announce that "This Date In Reds History" will have to take a brief hiatus, as I am taking a couple of college courses this summer, and I don't know how much extra time I will have. I will try to continue to post, but it will likely be very sporadic. Thanks to all of you who have enjoyed and supported TDIRH for the last five years, and thanks to retrosheet.org (an outstanding source) and baseball-reference.com (another great site). Hopefully I will be posting past lineups again soon!

Thanks Klu! Good luck in your classes!

This date in 1977 had to be one of wildest in Reds history with all of those trades. The really bad one was the Mike Caldwell trade. If the Reds had hung on to him they may have won the divison in 1978.
Also I'm not sure Gary Nolan ever pitched again. He had hurt his arm and was basically done. If he did pitch it wasn't very much more.
