According to Dusty, Chapman is dealing with some lower back stiffness/issues and was reason why he wasn't available. This is NOT good news and I really, really, really hope they take is slow and do not rush him back and cause more issues, in fact maybe if Bray is ready, DL Chapman for 15 days to rest and bring Bray on.

If this is true they need to rest him ASAP. Marshall could fill in at closer and Bray can slide in naturally in the bullpen. This could even be the excuse to rest Chapman and put him on a stretching out period to convert him to a starter for the 2nd half.

Just watching him you can see something isn't right. He has slowed way down in his delivery and his gun numbers are down. To me this is where your pitching coach makes his money.

Chapman has hidden injuries in the past...it wouldn't surprise me if he was doing it again. Cuba is a completely different world and he might think his job is in jeopardy if the front office thinks he's hurt.

Chapman is no different then almost most athletes. Most will do their best to hide their injuries as a weakness and fear of loss of position on the team. This is why the manager, trainer and such need to be on top of it. Looking at Chapmans delivery now and loss in speed has to lead anyone with a brain that something is wrong. So...with Bray on the verge of returning, why not DL Chapman for 15, add Bray and allow Price to work with Chapman and get him back on track.

Reminds me of last year with the troubles he went through before going on the DL. I'd rather him go now than pitch like last night..
