It would be very nice to see Mills rebound with us. He could be a solid backup waiting in Louisville should Votto go down (assuming we deal Soto at some point), or even regain a bit of trade value himself. You never really know with former first rounders.

The AZL Reds get a leadoff HR from Ty Washington, who has been a very nice early surprise. Speaking of surprises, how about these two names in the lineup tonight--Denis Phipps and Donald Lutz.

Jose Williams is pitching for the Goodyears. He's a 21-year-old, 6-5 righthander from the Dominican who pitched 12 good innings last year for the DSL Reds.

Hamilton's 1-3 with two walks and four more stolen bases tonight.

The two BBs give him 42 for the season, a BB% of 13%. Solid, that.

His K rate is just over 16%, fwiw.

Other numbers include:

-- an OPS over 875
-- an OBP over .425
-- a SLG over 450
-- a SB success rate of 84%
-- a BA of 332

From a SS (at least so far) who's (still) 21 years old (until September).

Best season for anyone in a Red minor league uniform, for sure. (Though Cingani may have a say if he finds the dominance he had in Bakersfield.)

I was kidding with Doug in last night's game thread and said I thought Hamilton would have his 100th steal before the end of play next Sunday. Now, instead of a joke, it looks like it may end up being a conservative estimate. :D He might actually get to last years total of 103 by then.
