I'll preface this by saying that I am a HUGE Joey Votto fan, but the last week has been a bit rough (against some mediocre pitching sans Bumgarner).
3-21 for a .143 BA 5 Walks, 7 K's and for the first time all year he has more K's than walks.
Joey Votto is Joey Votto. He will come around, and while I'm not terribly concerned about one week of numbers, this is pretty close to the biggest slump he's ever been in.
Do you guys think he's in need of some rest, trying too hard to end the month with some of the best one-month numbers ever, or what? Again, not concerned about his overall ability, he is still batting .400 for the month of June, just hoping this ends soon I suppose.
