I wonder what the error rate is on balls Hamilton hits and how that ranks against others in his league, etc?

Juan Perez, who homered last night, has another one today, along with a triple, for Dayton, which trails 7-5 in the sixth.

Perez OPSing over 800 in June, over 1.000 in his last 10. Five multiple hit games in his last 10 as well. Don't know if he's a SS as he moves up, but it looks like he can definitely play 2B. An almost 1:1 K:BB ratio, too.

Juan Silva's June looks awfully good too.

The youth in Dayton might need another half-season to fully blossom. Thankfully, most of that group is young enough that the extra half-season might not matter.

Tucker Barnhart singles to leadoff the top of the 3rd and proceeds to clog the bases for Slidin' Billy who follows with a single of his own. They both move up on a WP. Dayton to performances:

Juan Perez - 3-5, 4 R, 3B, HR, 3 RBI
Josef Terry - 3-5, 3 R, 2B, 2 RBI
Ryan Wright - 3-5, 2 2B, 3 RBI
Juan Silva - 1-3, R, 2B, BB
Junior Arias - 1-4, 2 R, 2B, BB
Yorman Rodriguez - 1-2

Not sure if YRod was injured, but it shows Jefrey Sierra PH'ing for him in the 8th and the box sore says he "struck out for" Rodriguez.

Looks like the Bats game was called due to inclement weather before Louisville came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. IIRC, that would nullify the two Indy score in the top of the 8th, but Louisville still falls 6-3 in 7.

Negron, Soto and Perez doubled for the Bats, and Gathright had a single, Soto, Harris and Miller each scored runs and Gathright and Perez drove in runs - that is pretty much the sum total of the Bats offense on the evening.

Bryson Smith finished 4-4 and is now hitting .533 for the Hoo. That classifies as a hot start. In his minor league career he is a .327 hitter. That will play.

Jesse Winker's stats are starting to get ridiculous. 4 for 4 today with a walk. His stat line is now: .422/.519/.511/1.030.

Were Winker to continue to kill the ball for another week or two, I'd probably move him up to Dayton and put Yorman on the shelf in Extended Spring Training to work with him.

I'd also not be afraid to move Rahier up to Billings now. He's got experience working with a wooden bat, a huge advantage for the kid. His power is playing now. (Oh, how I wish he could play up the middle.)

Covington went 2.1 and gave up the four runs, also walking four.

Gotta like Washington, Rachal and Rahier--all kids making their pro debuts out of high school (although Washington was drafted last year)--hitting 1-2-3 in that lineup, and producing. And that's with Winker playing up in Billings.
