David Freese batting 7th is a little scary....we have Frazier who is killer for 7th but the top 2 spots are the difference in these two lineups.

This can't possibly be correct. You have their catcher batting sixth. Catchers don't bat sixth, they bat eighth......duh!

HUGE...MOSTER game for Latos. Coming off 3 dominate performances he faces a team that has flat out OWNED him. Tonight he needs to overcome his problems with the Cards and be the pitcher he has been the last 3 outings...

Dusty said Rolen is good physically but that there is a plan to do some work with him in bp.

Rather they do the work there than in a game, for now I'm hoping he plays 1/3.

More improvements can be seen with Bruce (old fashion stuff but still)....Bruce as much as he seems to stink when he's most needed and his baserunning and defensive gaffes....he's still looking at 33 HR and 100 RBI...Stubbs not only seems to tremendously suck....he has numbers to support it.

Do agree with Brucey's issues being a bit of a concern.

Latos very careful with Freeze to get to the # 8 hitter. Except the # 8 hitter hits left handed. Doesn't anybody believe in the percentages? I'd rather take my chances with a really good right handed hitter than an average left handed hitter.

I would have pitched around both. It's outside-the-box, but you know Wainwright can't hit. Later in the game, you definitely go after the pitcher, so I'm not sure why more managers don't think that way early.

Baker revealed that Frazier was in the club's future plans, but also expressed the desire to keep his veteran sharp in the final year of his contract.

"We've got to play [Rolen] in order for him to get to the top of his game," Baker said.

There isn't time to be "experimenting" with Stubbs anymore. Ludwick is on fire, Heisey is hitting great, and Bruce is Bruce. They should start every game.

Cozart should be batting 8th. Let him concentrate on his defense and stop worrying about trying to be a leadoff hitter. He simply can't get on base under the scenario Baker is placing him under.

0-fer-9 from your top-two in the lineup against the division rival is proof enough that they should not have been batting there. If it was abnormal you could make a case for small sample size, but it's the norm for both Cozart and Stubbs. Baker has proven in other seasons that he's willing to tank a season and go down in flames trying to prove certain players are worth his belief in them.

Anytime Heisey has been given prolonged time as a starter he has not performed well. And for all the talk about 1-2 the fact remains that if you move Phillips there, for example, you have to put someone there that will not produce in the 4-hole the way he has. Double edged sword.
