Sans Votto, Reds go for seven in a row....

Stubbs CF
Cozart SS
Frazier 1B
Phillips 2B
Bruce RF
Rolen 3B
Heisey LF
Hanigan C
Arroyo P

New York Red
07-16-2012, 04:30 PM
Is this serious? Heisey gets three knocks last night and he drops from 2nd to 7th in the order, while Stubbs moves into the leadoff spot?

:dunno:

This is a lineup you don't see everyday haha. Stubbs against a lefty is cool, leading off is ugh. Frazier at 3? Woulda lost that bet.

Lets make it 7 in a row!

Dusty is amazing when it comes to lineups.

texasdave
07-16-2012, 05:15 PM
One Red has faced Miley in his career, Ryan Ludwick, and he is 1 for 2 with a home run.

07-16-2012, 05:23 PM
I just dont see how in the world Dusty justifies running Cozart / Stubbs combo for leadoff when we are over 50 points below the league AVERAGE in BA for leadoff & nearly 100 points below the league average in OBP!?

I would like to hear one of the beat writers ask him straight up why he isnt trying something else to get people on ahead of JV- imagine how much better we'd be if we were just below average in these categories instead of last by a mile!

Can anyone in his or her right mind explain to me how Frazier can't get on the field lately, and now all the sudden he's hitting third with Votto out?

I'm just completely put out with Dusty right now. I truly believe he's about the only thing that can keep this team from making the playoffs this year.

I suspect a wild one tonight. The pitching staff is due for a bad game, the offense a good one.

Every series someone has come in on life support against the Reds (DET, MIN, LA, ARIZ) they've jumped all over this ballclub.

Mentally unfocused after STL sweep?

Baseball's weird. All 5 of the Backs first hitters reached on some rather weakly struck balls. 3 of the first 4 Reds hitters reach on very well struck balls. Backs get 4 runs, we get 1.

Both Pirates and Cards in scoreless games so far.

Pirates up 1-0 in the 5th now.

Rolen, Heisey, Hanigan, probably Ludwick to pinch hit if it gets that far.

Two to tie, three to win.

Missed most of the game tonight, by the looks of the box score we got bad Bronson tonight.

Oh and that sucks about Votto. We'll be alright tho, it's not like our offense has been a juggernaut or anything. Pitching is gonna have to keep carrying us for a while.

Valdez to lead off with a bunt?

My stars of the game are:
- Jay Bruce and Zach Cozart just for showing up and the #1 Reds Star of the Game is...Bronson Arroyo :D

Just a bad offense right now. Miley was as bad as Arroyo but they couldn't knock him out. Some guys named "Jay" and "Zack" are the two big culprits.

Stubbs is like a 0.0000000001 hitter leading off this year, then he's in a massive slump. Go figure he had a good game tonight lol.

Coming off such an emotional series win over the Cards plus finding out their MVP is gone for at least 3 weeks, I'm not surprised they were down this game.

Cozart is in a terrible funk right now.

Hopefully Bruce can go on one of his one month hot streaks in the very near future, we could use one.

Cueto misses a turn. Votto out for 4...+ weeks. Alot of bad news lately. The long faces in the dugout. It reminds me when we lost Madson during spring training. They'll get through it. Someone will step up.

This is the time that professional ballplayers should step-up and elevate their play, just like jay bruce, zack cozart and bronson arroyo did tonight.

Me thinks the Reds may be in trouble. The offense was feeble to begin with, now the pitching staff can't afford a bad day. I hope someone steps it up, as I don't think the Reds have the resources to enact a trade for an impact player

During the 6 game streak Votto hit about .180 with 1 RBI. Yea, I know he's hurt, but they can win without him.
Of course I hope he's back ASAP, but likely a good month before he returns.

EDIT: Wrong he hit .300 with 2 RBI.

Dodgers have lost 18 of 24. :(

Still a little pissed we didn't come out of there with a series win.

I had to go back and take another look at that Bray wild pitch on the intentional walk. Anyone out there besides me think that Bray looked like a certain Cincinnati mayor on that pitch? So, in recapping, worst pitch on an intentional walk ever thrown. Lollygag home covering the plate. Suprised to find the ball coming to him. Tag runner. Out. Inning over.

Stubbs two hits and a walk. Heisey two more base knocks, five in the last two game. Which one sits?

Put me down for $500,000 that if one of them sits....it's Heisey
