A win tonight probably ends any remaining talk of the Brewers getting back into the playoff race and turns them into sellers going into the trade deadline. Plus I've always despised the Crew the most of any division rival due to their affiliation with one mister Bud Selig.

I don't approve of any defense where the SS is directly behind the pitcher and 2nd base.....with Bruce batting I'd have the 2nd baseman in Dunn territory and the SS pretty much playing 2nd....3B playing SS.

Sorry, I do my best to give good insight, reasonable opinions and back up my arguments with facts as much as anyone.....but I have 2 downfall peeve I cannot ignore and it's Dusty's insistence to run out horrible centerfielders (offensively) every single day since he's been here.....and then finds reasons not to play a guy who is hot.

Stubbs had about a 1/2 second more to trek.....but covered about 10-15 more feet. Aoki did a nice a job as anyone would've but Stubbs couldn't let up until the last step....Aoki eased up a few steps early.

Both excellent catches, but probably 1/2 the major league CF have to dive on the Stubbs play and 1/3 of them probably don't catch it.

Have to agree with Brisco that a sarcastic "nice if we could ever score" about a team that already scored 4 runs in 7 innings against a d@mn good pitcher is sad. You have a right to have as high of expectations as you want and to be as critical as you would like. But I do think it is sad.

Sorry about comment #2... I just did not understand a "nice if we could ever score" comment applied to a a game where we had scored 4 and were leading. I guess I still don't.

Its pretty simple- we put 4 up during the first 6 batters and then went to sleep. Had several opportunities to break the game open and didn't. After the first inning it was a matter of having to score another run or two to put the game away, which we finally did thanks to BP.

You know for all of the little things this team struggles with, and all of the room for improvement that we have offensively, we're still a really good baseball team. I know we like to complain around here...Stubbs this, Dusty that, Rolen this, Bailey that...collectively they're getting it done.

We're tied with the Nationals for the most wins in the NL and we're winning without our best player. Gotta love having a pitching staff to fall back on, overall all of those guys have been outstanding.

The blueprint for playoff baseball is pitching, pitching and then some more pitching. Home runs are nice. Wins are nicer.
