Ok, so there wasn't a trade... made you open the thread at least :).

BUT there is breaking news! Apparently earlier in the season Marty stated he would shave his head if this team won 10 games in a row. Well, here we are on the eve of making that happen, and if the team wins its 10th in a row today, Homer Bailey will be operating the clippers. According to Jamie Ramsay, the clubhouse is abuzz over this. I love the chemistry going on with this team, even the broadcasters are getting involved. LET'S GET THAT 10TH WIN!

No. I imagine that there are plenty of parents of 10 year old girls who don't want their daughter reading about a "babynutsack".

If you are navigating twitter you best be able to handle "baby nutsack".

No. I imagine that there are plenty of parents of 10 year old girls who don't want their daughter reading about a "babynutsack".

What is sexual and/or inappropriate about the fact a baby has no hair on it's testicles?

I'm confused.

Probably the fact that it is inappropriate conversation for 10 year old girls.

the inapproriate part is mentioning, many people don't want their kids talking about anyone's nutsacks. The world won't end, nor will anyone suffer harm, but Brandon could have choosen his words a little wiser consider how publically visable he is on twitter.

Edit: I should also add on the other side of the coin, I wouldn't want nor allow my 10 year old daughter to be on twitter.

Unfortunately, language has changed among younger people. My wife is a speech therapist in the school system and the things she tells me kids of 8-10 say would shock a sailor. I don't think anything BP or Dallas would say would shock them.

I have an 8 year old daughter who loves baseball. She isn't a follower but baby nutsack is mild compared to what kids hear today. I think its a bit out there but hardly offensive. She's an animal lover and knows how to sex baby kittens and puppies by looking for the "nutsack" which is exactly what she calls it!

BP is one funny dude. I am sure his younger fans have heard worse on the bus or at home.

My daughters used to badger me to watch R rated movies. Aside from the sex and violence, I would tell them there were too many f words to listen to. And their response would be that the school bus ride home was worse listening than any r rated movie.

Marty has said several times on air that he will go thru with it if the Reds win, said he's put off by the people who suggest that he wouldn't. However, he did say that he might have his barber do it so as not to grant the players that joy of the action.

If you do it, you've got to let the players do it; you just have to.

I see your point and somewhat agree, but its easier said than done and sometimes (probably not the case with Brandon Phillips) public figures use this line of reasoning as a "get out of jail free card" that allows them to behave like idiots.

Marty should've gone down to the clubhouse after the game and let them buzz him with clippers.

It was kind of lame how midgame he said "well.. I didn't say when or that they could do it.."

Marty has some days off.. it's just not going to have the impact when he takes a week to go to his own personal barber.. And then someone wants it to be a fundraiser.. Way to ruin what should've been a spontaneous celebration of a 10 game win streak..

Way too much being made about saying nutsack on twitter. If anything the joke is bad and BP should feel bad. The vulgarity (?) shouldn't even be in question.

To stay on thread though...

10 games in a row and Marty loses his hair? I'm a fan. I hope when the streak hits 15, Valdez is next.

That's nothing new. Kids I knew in the 1970s had mastered foul language by the time they hit the 3rd grade. From what I gather kids dropped from the womb uttering F-bombs during the Depression. And the entire premise of South Park was based on "What if we have a show where kids talk like real kids?"

Anyway, as the parent of an 11-year-old girl I feel qualified to state that she needs no protection from the phrase "baby nutsack."

As for Marty, he should be tossed out of the HOF if he doesn't shave his head. His journalistic credibility hinges on it.

Duh Chip, Marty's hair is the bigger story now. The Reds are ONLY 10 games into their streak of 83 consecutive wins.

It's only fitting that Homer should cut about 3/4 of Marty's glorious locks, then hand the clippers off to Chapman for the s(h)ave.

Marty will have his hair shaved off ON THE FIELD after Friday night's game IF people pledge $20,000 to the Reds Community Fund. If there aren't enough pledges, Marty will have his own barber shave it in private. See HERE (http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120731&content_id=35879514&vkey=pr_cin&c_id=cin).
