7/29/00: Traded Chris Richard and Mark Nussbeck for Mike Timlin and cash.

7/31/00: Traded Jose Leon for Will Clark and cash.

7/31/01: Traded Jason Christiansen for Kevin Joseph and cash.

8/2/01: Traded Ray Lankford for Wood Williams.

7/19/02: Traded Coco Crisp and Luis Garcia for Steve Finley

7/29/02: Traded Placido Polanco, Mike Timlin, and Bud Smith for Scott Rolen, Doug Nickle, and cash.

8/6/04: Traded Jason Burch, Luis Martinez, and Chris Narveson for Larry Walker.

7/5/06: Traded Terry Evans for Jeff Weaver.

7/30/06: Traded Hector Luna for Ron Belliard.

7/31/06: Traded Rich Scalamandre for Jorge Sosa.

7/31/07: Traded Sean Danielson for Joel Piniero.

Looks like he traded very few prospects that ever amounted to anything. That's good to see

He took advantage of the McGwire bump (they were a fairly stagnant franchise at that point), rode it to success and then took on other teams' unwanted payroll in future years.

You'll notice that all the bigger names that he traded for ended up performing rather well for them. McGwire (no brainier, but he got him for nothing), Walker, Clark, Rolen......Man, did he trade for some impact bats over the years or what?
