Anything wrong with Scott Rolen?

That is what I was thinking. Although could be Rolen does not hit Volstad well.

Ironman92
08-09-2012, 03:38 PM
Rolen's shoulder bothering? I don't mind him sitting 2-3 times a week to ensure playoff health....but he's due to start unless he's 4-27 off the pitcher or something.

It's the Cubs....they'll make us giggle on defense but will make up for it by sucking on offense.

Reds 9
Cubs 2

Is it Bruce that is always good in Wrigley?

sammonator

Rolen 0-5 vs Volstad

Chris Volstad is winless in his last 21 starts. Yikes!

That stat scares me, the way the Reds are hitting.

texasdave

I think Stubbs usually does well there.

Stubbs career line at Wrigley. .291/.356/.557/.913

Bruce's lifetime OPS there is about his average. .840.

texasdave
08-09-2012, 03:48 PM
Leake pitched a gem there in 2011, until LaHair took him deep late. Leake has one start in Wrigley this year and got shelled. 5.2IP 10H 5ER 1BB 3K.

Ironman92

I think Stubbs usually does well there.

Yeah....did my own checking. Stubbs does well there.

Did a Reds player have a 3 HR game there?...maybe even 5-7 years ago. Seems like someone went deep 3 times there....maybe Votto? Maybe it was just Stubbs and a 2 HR game.

jback76
08-09-2012, 03:53 PM
Rolen 0-5 vs Volstad

Nah, that's not the reason. Dusty said he just wanted to get Cairo's bat in the lineup.

Pretty sure that was Stubbs. July 4th, 2010 per baseball-reference.com.

Votto hit three against the Cubs in GABP on May 7th, 2008. One came off of Sean Marshall. One came off of Sean Gallagher (Reds AAA pitcher).

Nah, that's not the reason. Dusty said he just wanted to get Cairo's bat in the lineup.

Lol....what a horrible thing to say. How about Rolen play and he can use Cairo's bat? Would that suffice?

How can it not be???? I mean if the Reds lose their playoff percentage will decrease to 59.437521790543766523% which would clearly be an outrage.

The start of the Reds game will be delayed by rain here at Wrigley Field, Chicago. Scheduled start was 8:05 p.m. ET.

texasdave
08-09-2012, 08:01 PM
Scott Rolen is not in the lineup tonight because he is “sore,” Reds manager Dusty Baker said. When asked if Rolen’s shoulder is bothering him again, Baker declined to be specific about what ails Rolen:“He’s a little sore. … It’s day to day. It just came up today. Well, last night. ”

The dreaded day-to-day.

Tuff Nut
08-09-2012, 08:19 PM
The dreaded day-to-day. Who wants to bet it is Rolen, and not Cairo, that gets DLed when Joey returns. Miguel has played good D, but his stick leaves much to be desired. I know Fraizer plays 3B, but the bench stays WEAK.

And only a Cub would get run arguing that a pitch wasn't a ball.

Walking and carrying the back 9 got me this humid day. I ended up +8 (80)

Back just after high school I was a 1.5 handicap but I haven't played much since the mid 90's. I have played 8 or 9 rounds this summer but have had more in the 80's than the 70's (75 my best, 85 my worst).

Growing my golf team members and I would walk 36 holes a day in the summer. (we were 60-0 to start my senior year...until Lancaster beat us at their place by star Joe Ogilvie (PGA Tour member)
