I figured Bruce would sit after the way he looked last night.

What's up with Rolen tho?

I like that lineup today.

I have to assume he is hurt again -- but I have seen nothing reported -- which is strange IMO

MrRedLegger

Rolen is said that he is day to day,
and dearly I hope that should be okay
It's said Rolen has some soreness in shoulder,
he hopes after this series we're still a 1st place holder.

you have a report I have not seen
you have been where I have not been
time will tell about a return for Rolen
or whether this will truly be the end

I beg to differ. It's not his shoulder.
This is what happens when people get older.
Hopefully soon he'll be on the right track.
But as for now it's just stiffness of back.

He's really hurt. He's not playing hookey.
What he does need is a magical cookie.
But for today he'll be down on the bench.
Because once again his back he did wrench.

:)

Rolen (stiff back) still out. Struggling Bruce (hitless in last 12 AB) getting a day off and may be off tomorrow too, manager Dusty Baker said.

texasdave
08-10-2012, 01:44 PM
Bruce needs the day off.
He's lost all his luster.
He needs to go out.
And find a slumpbuster.

As deep as his slump is.
He might look for twins.
Then start hitting again.
'Cuz the Reds need the wins.

7 pitches in the first....7 flippin pitches.

The plate approach Dusty pushes is an absolute joke.

Cubs leadoff saw 6 pitches and smacked it oppo.

Cozart and Stubbs were out swinging at the warmup pitches.

You'd still have Stubbs hitting too close to the top of the lineup once it turned over.

Safest place for him is in Louisville. Or, even better, traded. Aside from that, I like your lineup. An outfield of Ludwick/Heisey/Frazier would make me very happy. Too bad they're all righties.

76 pitches through 4 so far. Going to have to be really efficient the next couple of innings, assuming they won't let him go much past 100 pitches.

That brings up a point....if he goes to say 94 pitches thru 5 and then Dusty let's him battle through to 113 pitches after 6....well Latos should be ticked.

We'll see how this plays out....but with a mediocre 5th inning we could have an interesting debate.

As a manager not so much, but I like him as a color guy. Much better than Steve stone used to be.

Funny because Steve Stone was relieved form the Cubs due to speaking his mind and now he's the guy to try to keep Hawk straight for the Sox.

Tadasimha
08-10-2012, 03:55 PM
That brings up a point....if he goes to say 94 pitches thru 5 and then Dusty let's him battle through to 113 pitches after 6....well Latos should be ticked.

We'll see how this plays out....but with a mediocre 5th inning we could have an interesting debate.

He has a 20 plus pitch inning, he's probably done. Simon can pitch the 6th and maybe the 7th depending on the batting order, then the usual end of the game trio can close it out.

Don't know why the Chicago baseball teams can't get decent commentators. Santo was bad, Hawk is bad and the guy who replaced Santo (Moreland) is bad.

Brenly is probably the best Chicago has right now!
