Reds play DBacks next week. Good.

Well, it's not like he's been helping Arizona.

I know Drew hasn't been hitting, but Oakland really didn't give up anything.

I guess the Diamondbacks should have sold high on this guy two years ago lol

The A's are also getting Brett Anderson back tomorrow. All of a sudden they looked poised to make a real run of it.

That injury he had was crazy. Wasn't your garden variety broken ankle. Remember, his whole darn foot was pointing the other way? Gonna take awhile before he gets back to where he was methinks. Good buy low for Oakland.

This has been the year for formerly solid hitting IFs to completely crater in production. Drew, Yunel Escobar and Casey McGehee were all sporting really terrible lines right around the deadline, not sure how they've all done since.

Id toss Rickie Weeks in that group as well.

There was a time I would have traded a lot for Drew. But right now, he's a rent-a-player hitting .193 and there's no way Arizona would have picked up next year's $10 million mutual option. They didn't get hardly anything but that's probably what the rest of his season is going to be worth.

On the other hand, at least he has the capacity to get hot, and if you're wondering why Oakland would bother, check out the numbers of the never-was he'll be replacing.

Stephen Drew. The quintessential Reds killer that can't hit against anyone else. :D

D'Backs missed an opportunity to trade him at peak value a few year's back.

The Drew brothers sure have gotten more hype than production in their careers.

A kid that pitched in AA Mobile (Arizona) last year has been a nice addition to Oakland's rotation. Jarrod Parker has been pretty consistent for a 23 year old pitcher. Oakland has to be pleased with this move.
