CF/SS must be #1/#2 in the order. Heisey isn't thought to be good enough to do anything....but when he plays CF he bats 1st or 2nd. Wilson Valdez playing for Cozart bats 2nd....if he plays for Phillips he bats 7th.

I remember when Alex Gonzalez was injured and Paul Janish was called up for defensive purposes only....he was thought to MLB adequate on defense and was not even a good hitter in the minors....but called up and when he got in he was put in the 2 hole.....utterly ridiculous....but consistent.

I have to give most of the credit to the starting pitching keeping us in games, and Chapman shutting everyone down in the 9th. Our hitting is middle of the road, with a boost from GABP. Failure with RISP a major problem, high strikeout rate, difficulties against right handers.

I would imagine pitchers will be brought up Sept 1 to rest the regulars some. But who it would be is a guess. There isn't mush at AAA. Hopefully Cingrani, Corcino from AA. Unfortunately I think it will be people like Ondrusek, Jordan Smith, Redmond, and only if they are on the 40 man roster. I don't think what
is at AAA is much help except to eat up a few innings
