Waiting for the Dusty backers to explain Stubbs over Heisey again.....

It's simple.

The Reds are 9-1 during the last 10 games that Stubbs has struck out 3 or more times. His striking out leads us to wins.....a .900 winning percentage is not debatable. Please stop beating the dead horse. Stubbs makes us win. Heisey gives you basically nothing.

That Profar kid for the Rangers went deep in his first major league at bat.

Edit: 2-2 with a HR and a double. Just what the Rangers need, more offense lol.

I can't believe a World Series contender brings up a young kid and throws him right in there.

Z-Fly
09-02-2012, 02:43 PM
It should be relatively easy to calculate outfield range. Just take the total distance from the player's original starting point to the point where the ball is caught, divided by time.

I guess the hardest part would be calculating distance, bu you would think it could be triangulated.

I'm not sure the guns were that accurate in the old days. It sure seemed like Gossage threw as hard as anyone I've ever seen (save Chapman) and he was timed about 92-93. I don't remember anyone ever talking about pitch speed with Koufax.

Still it makes sense that today's athlete throws harder.

I heard Henry Rodriguez's at bat on the radio, did any of our other callups see any action today?

Chapman time and then come home with a 9.5 game lead a magic number of 19.

Why wouldn't Astros ownership sell non field level seats for like a dollar for the rest of the year? Get more people in to cheer for the young guys. They're not selling tickets anyway...

They have five dollar tickets and plenty of seats down front you can move down into. They used to sell two dollar tickets a couple of years ago. Not sure if that program is still ongoing. Two dollars to see a game and get a bobblehead or some other giveaway was pretty nice.

I don't think any hitter in Chapman's last 3 outings has swung and missed a single time.

Velocity's been down a little. Fatigue being the reason I don't think he was ready to start.

That is pretty nice when your slump means you are just getting batters out instead of blowing them away.

That's an awesome deal if they still do it. I guess you can't blame Houston fans for not showing up...it'd just be cool for all of their young players to have some fans cheering for them.

And the #1 star goes to that Texan out in Right Field.

Forgotten in all the excitement was another nice effort by Big Game Bronson. 91/2 ahead.

I owe BP an apology. I swear I heard him say "Horse Crap" last night, but if you run this through to the very end his parting shot was a bit naughtier.

Warning: adult language.

Yet another reason why MLB umpires are the least respected and most arrogant POS and worst referees in all of sports. If I was commish I would fire them all and put all of their Fat A88es on the unemployment line where they belong.

We won? WTF!

Seriously though Bruce is just like Baker on here, doesn't get enough lough when he's doing work, and gets way too much hate when he's in a slump.

TRADE BRUCE! HAHAHA RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT

Right now Bruce is about 8th in the MVP race. He'll do.
