We often debate about Dusty's lineups, so naturally this should make for some good discussion. Keep in mind it's simply for fun. But I'd like to see the best hitters getting the most at-bats.

2B Phillips
SS Cozart
1B Votto
LF Ludwick/Frazier
RF Bruce
3B Rolen/Frazier
CF Heisey/Stubbs
C Hanigan

When Stubbs plays, I bat him 7th or 8th. When Heisey plays I might switch him with Cozart to bat 2nd and Cozart 7th.

Whatever Dusty goes with is my lineup.

Not that I'll like it, but at this point I've resigned myself to the fact it won't matter one way or another. They're winning most of their games and Dusty isn't listening anyhow.

That's the line-up I'd use.

Hanigan 2
Phillips 4
Votto 3
Frazier 9
Ludwick 7
Bruce 8
Rolen 5
Cozart 6
Pitcher 1

Cozy deserves to be higher, and several arguments could be made for various changes here, but ultimately, this is what I got.

I prefer that lineup but know it has about a gazillion to one chance of happening.

I'd use that one if they'd give that a chance, but I assume Bruce won't see CF.

If I had my way

2B Phillips
LF Frazier
1B Votto
RF Ludwick
CF Bruce
3B Rolen
C Hanigan
SS Cozart

That is a championship lineup.

Agreed.

Realistically, this is it:

2b Phillips
CF Stubbs :bang:
1b Votto
LF Ludwick
RF Bruce
3b Rolen
SS Cozart
C Hanigan

(Frazier as supersub plays 4 out of 5 days)

Love Rick's lineup, but I'm guessing its:
Phillips 2B
Cozart SS
Votto 1B
Ludwick LF
Bruce RF
Rolen/ Frazier 3B
Stubbs/ Heisey CF
Hanigan C

Yup, that'd be mine too. Vs a lefty, I'd swap Bruce and Rolen/Frazer though.

SS Cozart

I'd bat Votto lower in the lineup for a while so he doesn't have to run the bases as much.
He's on an awful lot and that first to third stuff is how he got hurt in the first place.

My gut tells me with rain likely for tomorrow... wet field...he won't play

I don't think I agree. I think it's more likely he moves Stubbs down and puts Cozart batting 2nd in the order.

Top of the lineup really blows. Really. But, they're almost 30 games over.

Mine:

Phillips 2B
Rolen/Frazier 3B
Votto 1B
Ludwick LF
Bruce RF
Hannigan C
Cozart SS
Heisey/Stubbs CF

If Heisey was getting the starts I could go with he and Hannigan switching spots.

Anything that involves Stubbs batting higher than 7th vs a RHP is a terrible lineup. Cozart as well now that we are at it...but he seems to be better hitting 2nd....than Stubbs has.

The equation certainly looks a lot better with Frazier, Votto, Bruce, Rolen and Ludwick all on the field at the same time...

But isn't that cheating ;)

Phillips - 2B
Votto - 1B
Ludwick - LF
Bruce - CF
Frazier - RF
Rolen - 3B
Hannigan/Navarro - C
Pitcher
Cozart - SS

After the first inning, Votto would be hitting behind Cozart and Phillips -- therefore virtually 3rd in the order for the rest of the game

2B-Phillips
SS-Cozart
1B-Votto
LF-Luddy
RF-Bruce
3B-Rolen/Frazier
C-Hanny/Mes/Navarro
CF-Stubbs/Heisey
Pitcher

Heisey has been hitting the ball good of late and deserves more playing time down the stretch. I dont think Dusty does anything crazy with the lineup other than moving Phillips back to the leadoff spot(and thats not really crazy) The 3 hole will be Vottos for the next decade at least so no way does he get moved out of that spot. O well we'll see today I guess.
