Last night Adam Dunn struck out for the 2,000th time in his career.

Reggie Jackson 2597
Jim Thome 2534
Sammy Sosa 2306
Andres Gallaraga 2003
Alex Rodriguez 2001
Adam Dunn 2000

Dunn is only 1 back of Arod and 3 back of the big cat.

He's 32 away from the single season record.

He should have the record by Sept 14th 2015.

Thats too bad...I really like him. He is a good dude, my family ran into him at a restaraunt in Chicago and he was pretty cool. Signed a ball and bat i had in the car. If he could hit for a better average he would be super good...maybe HOF material.

Too bad? I'd LOVE to be on that list. :D

What's really too bad is that Drew Stubbs is ALREADY about 25% to that mark... without the home runs, runs scored or RBI.

Stubbs is 28% to the 2000 mark.

What is the record for the quickest one to get to 2,000? Stubbs has to be on a pretty good pace. Oh and by the way will be leading off again tonight.

I can't imagine Stubbs getting much closer to that 2000 mark before he's out of baseball altogether. And don't get me wrong I like the guy.

My guess would be Dunn.

Russell Branyan, Rob Deer and Mark Reynolds were at a quicker pace than Stubbs.....none will reach 1500.

This might finally be the year that old Adam plays on a team that finishes above .500. Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in awhile.

It's also the first year he's ever hit 3rd

Stubbs is 28% to the 2000 mark.
At the rate he's going, he could still get there if Twin Peaks BOB decides to extend Baker for 3-4 more years.

Almost certain Stubbs was fastest to 500, though. I've tried to get some verification on that, but haven't been able.

These may be at plate appearance or two off because I didn't go into each particular game log and see which plate appearance was K number 500, but using the list of players cited above here is how they came out.

Nope....Branyan and Reynolds have the standard up to a little over 1,000 whiffs.

I had no idea that Adam Dunn only struck out when there was a runner on first.

Better than hitting into DPs.

Not if it knocks in the run from 3rd.
