Today has seen several major injuries occur on college football fields across the country.

As you might have already heard, Tulane's Devon Walker fractured his spine in a head to head collision with a teammate. He needed to be resuscitated on the field and a tracheotomy was even performed. He has since been reported to be in stable condition.

Indiana QB Tre Roberson suffered a nasty compound fracture in one of his lower legs in a goal line play. This one hurts not only as a Hoosiers fan, but especially because the compound fracture is one particularly gruesome injury you never want to see.

Just as many of us were watching the end of tonight's Reds game, Arkansas DB Tevin Mitchel had to be carted off after suffering an injury similar to the Devon Walker injury that happened earlier in the day.

Thoughts are with all these young players as they are hopefully in the process of starting full recoveries tonight.
