Dusty should put Frazier at SS a few times while Cozart is out...Is Valdez that much of an upgrade defensively? And he is worth it having on defense for the crap he brings on his bat?

But Rolen is also out, and that ultimately leaves us with Valdez (with Frazier at 3B) v. Cairo (with Frazier at SS). I would prefer Frazier at 3B, and Valdez v. Cairo is pretty much a wash. I'd like to see DiDi get a few more starts. He is just as productive as Valdez, but at least he has a chance to improve.

Stubbs on the bench with a lefty going. Interesting.

No score after one. Reds had a couple good swings that inning. 14 straight scoreless innings for Wandy R.

I think Heisey is the starter now for good. As long as he keeps peforming.

Hard-to-believe stat of the night. Jay Bruce knocked in every run the Reds scored in the series against Philadelphia.

It is getting ugly early in Baltimore. Bengals trail 10-0 midway through the first quarter. Bengals' devotees should be shuffling over to this game about the fourth inning.

Latos throwing hard tonight. 95-96

texasdave
09-10-2012, 07:49 PM
Latos looking studlier and studlier as the season grinds to a halt. 2.42 ERA since August 1st. In all but one of his starts he has given up 2 ER or less. One bad start. He got lambasted by the Cardinals.

texasdave
09-10-2012, 07:54 PM
If the NL had the DH, I would let Latos swing and DH for Valdez. Well, honestly, I would let all the pitchers hit and DH for Valdez any start he made. Soft V grounds out. Anyone surprised?

texasdave

Nine up and nine down. 16 consecutive scoreless innings for Rodriguez. Team has to start hitting sometime, right? They are averaging less than 3 runs a game in September to date.

Why can't we even play average baseball now that we have a chance to put this thing away? This team has been garbage in September and late August. So much for Votto being the straw that stirs the drink. We're not playing well in any aspect of the game. Hell, we gave the freaking Astros their 15th and 16th road wins of the year this past series.

34-13. Not good. Who dey? Now we know.

Our secondary has been laughable at best, beat on everything. It hasn't helped that every single replacement ref call has went against us, but not why we're losing.

Flacco looks scary good, so does that entire offense. We've had our chances and missed a couple of plays or else we'd be much closer. Bottom line our defense has been thoroughly whooped.

Their is something clearly wrong with Chapman has been for a while. it almost looks like he is in pain when he pitches.

Why not MRI they guy instead of running him out there all the time until he seriously damages something.

You wouldn't warm someone the second Chapman comes in the game. He shouldn't be available if he isn't right though, and right now he doesn't look like he is. If you gotta shut him down do it. He's valuable to the present and future of this team.
