Negative post #1532:

Stubbs getting a chance to perfect his 0-4 with 3 Ks in the 7 hole.

Which we'll probably see in the playoffs.

Free Heisey!

Another game where we wait until the 7th or 8th to do anything offensively?

Looks like the Pirates will be lucky just to finish above .500. Another loss today to the Cubs in Wrigley.

This offense is in a deep slump. Lucky us the Pirates slumped badly. Jay Bruce is something else. Guy can't hit at all now.

Bruce 0 for his last 15. Get it all out now while there's time.

1-0 Miami bottom 4th.

With the way hitting is going, this one may be done. Frazier walks, my day is complete

Is it really a slump or is it what we are?

Just gotta hope we can eke a few out and win the pitching matchups in the playoffs.

How many no name pitchers with a high ERA's have we been beaten by? It has to be several. What's gonna happen in the post season when we have to face good pitching
every day?

This is who we are. We knew early in the season we had problems offensively and nothing was done to improve it. The hot streak we had was just that....a hot streak. Now it seems everyone has come back down to earth and we can't buy runs. Our pitching has given us the big lead we have...it surely hasn't been the offense.

This has been a trend for the Reds as long as I can remember. I still get cold-sweat flashbacks to Jeff Pico of the Cubs, and that was 25 freakin' years ago.

Maybe it's like this for other teams, too. Sometimes it's hard to face a guy you don't have the "book" on.

Kid's having trouble throwing strikes and the Reds are acting like they need to get back to hotel, swinging on 2-0 and 3-1 counts.

Apparently too much to hope Phillips could actually take on a 1-0 count.

GIBP.

Simon has been tough all year.

Really should be used in closer games, IMO.

He's got to be on the post-season roster.

I guess if they wanna go into an offensive slump you may as well do it now before the playoffs start.

This team's hitting is beyond pathetic! Welsh thinks every fly ball hit by a Red would be long gone if it was hit at GABP, or if hit at GABP it's too cold to go out on this night. Welsh, STFU!

When was the last time Bruce got a basehit?

BluegrassRedleg

You're not gonna score many runs with a 6-man batting order and three automatic outs. Dusty's doing this to himself by effectively using 3 pitchers in his lineup.

This offense is just bad. Tonight was abysmal bad. If this was against decent pitching I'd understand it, but this guy came into the game with a 1-4 record and 7 plus ERA for 2012. Can only hope something gives or this will be a quick post season.

Agree. Heisey should be in CF.

Gregorius should be at SS (could use the experience), but I guess we gotta get Valdez going.

Right now he's on a tear south...leaving the Mendoza line in his rear-view.

The Jeff Pico reference is mine! Lol

I use this reference every time the no name blanks us.

That's funny. I've been doing that with a group of 4-5 buddies every time we face a rook. I text them "PICO." That's all I have to say. :p

We've turned it into a verb, getting "Pico'd."

Ahh, misery loves company. :beerme:
