Reds went 7-3 over last ten games and yesterday clinched a playoff spot, first team to do so. Reds now lead St. Louis by 11 (was 9.5 last time) and magic number is two to clinch division title. Reds now 91-59, a .607 winning percentage, second best record in MLB. Nats lead Reds by .5 games (one fewer loss) and the rest of the season is devoted to resting players and vying for top NL record for playoff seeding. Debatable if top spot will provide the most favorable playoff schedule.

Reds are finished against NL East finishing 19-15 in those games. Reds 21-10 v. NL West (one series remains) and 44-26 against NL Central. Reds 7-8 in interleague play. Reds 60-43 against righties (presumably where righties were pitchers of record) and 31-16 against lefties. Reds +83 in run differential. Nats at +132 lead NL, Cards and Braves also slightly ahead of Reds in that category. Reds 47-28 at home, 44-31 on the road. Reds with most road wins in the major leagues, tied with Rangers for most home wins.

Key injuries are Chapman and Cozart, both on the shelf but due back soon. Ludwick injury supposedly minor.

Offense - Reds OPS dropped from .746 to .736 in last ten games. Month of September, Reds have scored 55 runs, third from bottom of NL. Reds OPS is sixth in NL. Reds wOBA dropped from .321 to .318, also sixth best in NL. Reds wRC+ also sixth best (tied), dropped from +98 to +95.

Reds BA now .255 which is 8th in NL. Reds OBP is now .318, tenth in NL. Reds SLG is now .419 fifth in NL. Reds have scored 641 runs, ninth in the NL. League leading Brewers have scored 719 with one fewer game. National League average is 635 runs scored in 150 games.

Reds main drop was in SLG which declined from .427 to .419. In September Reds have fewest homers in NL with 10. In September Reds have 37 extra base hits, third from bottom of NL. Reds position player overall WAR is 26.4, sixth in NL.

Votto won't qualify for batting title, but leads Reds in most percentage offensive categories. His wOBA is .440. Next best among regulars is Ludwick at .372. Among NL hitters with 350 or more PAs, Votto leads in wOBA, OBP (.472), wRC+, OPS, and is second in BA (.342).

Over the last 14 days, here are wOBA numbers for Reds hitters with over 30 PAs: Votto .395, Ludwick .345. Phillips, .299. Heisey .246. Frazier .240. Bruce .235. Valdez .212.

Among those who may be battling for playoff roster spots, here are wOBA numbers over last month (hitters): Paul (.356), Navarro (.352), Gregorius(.278), Cairo (.259), Valdez (.188). Mesoraco with only 3 PAs in that period. Over last month Stubbs wOBA is .186.

Some old fashioned counting stats: Bruce with 33 homers, Ludwick with 26, lead Reds. Bruce with 96 RBI, Ludwick with 80, lead Reds. Phillips with 155 hits, leads Reds. Votto an amazing 40 doubles, leads Reds. Bruce 85 runs scored, Phillips 82 to lead Reds. Votto 80 walks, leads Reds, second is Bruce with 59. Frazier with 6 triples leads team.

Pitching - Reds team ERA is 3.42 improved very slightly from last time (3.44). Trail only Nats in NL. Starters at 3.77, slightly worse than last time (3.73). Sixth in league. Relievers at 2.61 big improvement from last time (2.74) to retain top spot in NL. Reds have allowed 558 runs, only Nats have allowed fewer in NL. Reds have allowed 512 earned runs, only Nats have allowed fewer in NL.

In month of September, Reds team ERA is 3.16, fourth in league. Batting average against Reds this year is .249, sixth best in league. OPS against is .702 for season, fourth best in NL. OBP against Reds is .308, third best in league. SLG against is seventh best, .394.

Reds UZR/150 is 1.4, fourth in the league. Since they have played exactly 150 games, I don't understand why the ranking is so different when UZR/150 is used, but whatever.
