Here's the likely playoff schedules for the first round - I think but if it's wrong, I offer a money back guarantee - first assuming the standings hold and then assuming we jump to the 1 seed. I'm not laying out if we slip to the 3 seed behind SF because I think that's unlikely, but it's simply the reverse of the 2 seed scenario anyway (we host first two games, travel for the next three).

If 2 seed:

Game 1: Saturday October 6 @SF - TBS has TV slots at 7 and 9:30

Game 2: Sunday, October 7 @SF - TBS has TV slots at 3:30, 7, and 10, and since we'd be on the west coast, logical that we'd have the last slot, though it's also possible that there would be AL games in Oakland or Anaheim if one of them advances through the wild card round. There is also an MLBN slot and if that time is available online, I haven't seen it.

Game 3: Tuesday October 9 in Cincinnati - TBS has TV slots at 6 and 9:30

Game 4: Wednesday October 10 in Cincinnati - TV slots not presently available but if the Reds have to play this game, then there will be at least three games on this date (this game 4 along with the other NLDS game 3 and an ALDS game 3) with the possibility of four games (the other ALDS game 4 if that series isn't a sweep); TBS is set to broadcast three games this date, if possible, so assume something like the October 7 schedule of 3:30, 7, and 10, with probably another 7:00 or 8:00 game on MLBN. If you look at the four likely match-ups (Reds-Giants, Texas-Oakland or Baltimore, NYY-CWS, and WAS-ATL or STL), Reds-Giants might be the one least appealing to TBS so it might be MLBN treatment and if not that, then the 3:30 slot. So, with a possible afternoon home game, don't plan any work events for October 10 during the afternoon.

Game 5: Thursday October 11 in Cincinnati - TV slots not presently available but there's the possibility (somewhat remote) that there could be four games today and TBS is shown as having them all, so they could have something like 12, 3, 7, 10 in mind. Again, strong possibility of an afternoon game here for the Reds if it gets that far and the other series go long too.

If 1 seed:

Game 1: Sunday October 7 at STL/ATL - TBS has TV slots at 3:30, 7, and 10. There is also an MLBN slot and if that time is available online, I haven't seen it.

Game 2: Monday October 8 at STL/ATL - TBS has TV slots at 6 and 9:30.

Game 3: Wednesday October 10 in Cincinnati - TV slots not presently available. Different than above 10/10 information, when the Reds would have played a game 4 on this date, it's possible there could be just two games on this date (if the two series that are a day ahead are over in 3 games). As noted, TBS would broadcast at least three of the games on this date, so assume something like the October 7 schedule of 3:30, 7, and 10 (if there are three or more games), with the chance of another 7:00 or 8:00 game on MLBN. Reds-Braves or Reds-Cards probably more likely to avoid the afternoon than Reds-Giants but still a strong chance for an afternoon game.

Game 4: Thursday October 11 in Cincinnati - see above comments about TBS supposedly covering up to four games on this date and above comments about an afternoon game.

Game 5: Friday October 12 in Cincinnati - up to two games this night, assume 6 and 9:30.

This is fantastic, thank you. I'm going to request half days off on Weds/Thurs just to be safe.

Nice home work - Thanks, I do need to talk to my boss about some play by ear time off.

By the way, the similar seeded teams from each league play the same days. Right now, we would be the 2 seed, and the Yankees would be the AL 2-seed meaning we'd always be the lower priority game unfortunately.

I also spent a couple of minutes putting together a bracket.

The most interesting takeaway for me from this is that they've basically done away with the weekday 1PM games.

Great info. Thanks! Now all I need is for the Reds to avoid the 3:30 slot on Sunday the 7th.

Game 3: Tuesday October 9 in Cincinnati - TBS has TV slots at 6 and 9:30

This one is of interest to me should we play SF.

We'll be paired with the Yankees from the AL in all likelihood. I assume that they would get the late slot for primetime, but you can't help but wonder if SanFran being a West Coast team we might play the late late slot -- nahh. Interesting thought though.

The Yankees will play between 8 and 11 EDT whenever possible; of that, I am absolutely certain.

My guess:

Tues: 6:00
Weds: 3:30
Thurs: Primetime (7 or 8) since it would be a game 5

Looking like Tuesday at 6:00 is the most likely. Guess who will be working a half day Tuesday.

You have to figure that the Reds/Giants will be the late game as well on Sunday. Sunday's matchups are as follows:

Yankees at Orioles or Rangers
A's at Tigers
Nationals at Braves or Cardinals
Reds at Giants

Virtual certainty that Reds/Giants will occupy that 10:30 slot that TBS currently lists for Sunday.

And I work late both Saturday and Sunday. Sucks for me. Although :coughcough: I do feel a case of playoff fever coming on.

At this point I would be shocked if the first 3 games weren't:

10/6: 9:30 on TBS
10/7: 10:30 on TBS
10/9: 6:00 on TBS

On the 10th and 11th, assuming there are no sweeps, it is probably safe to assume the Yankees will be primtime on TBS and the A's will be the late game. So that probably means afternoon games or the B game in primetime on MLBN.

I would not schedule any work for Wednsday and Thursday afternoon!

For what it's worth, both of my recently purchased parking passes for games 1 and 2 in SF say evening gametime (approx. 7:00 PM Pacific Time) for both games.

I think it will be this if it exists. Nationals vs ATL/STL makes more sense in an afternoon game than a game involving SF. Of course if the Wash series is a sweep, their will only be 2 other games that day so either the afternoon game or MLB game goes away.

I am praying to my Gods that the Tuesday game is a late game. It's going to be hard to get out of work early if it isn't.:(

The Reds almost have to be the early game - the other game is Detroit vs. Oakland in Oakland so I'm 90% certain that will be the late game.

Even MLB and Bud Selig couldn't be dumb enough to do a schedule where first pitch is at 3:00 local time and 9:30 local time if they have the possiblility of starting both games at 6:30 local time (or could they).
