In the quest for the #1 seed i think we should have a thread for this.

Tied at 3 with the Phils in the top of the 5th, 1 on 2 out for the Nationals

Nationals have unloaded on the Phillies starter and lead 6-3. Nationals missed Lee, Holliday, and Hamels in this series

The Cards are playing them at home so nothing but bad will happen to the Nats the next 3 days.

After Washington gets one in the first the Cards come back with a soft hit, walk, ground ball to SS trying to get the force at 2nd but runner beat it out to load the bases, line drive single to make it 1-0, error on 3B to make it 2-0, walk to make it 3-0, SF to make it 4-0 and a blooper to make it 5-0 Cards before Wainwright hit into a DP.

Cards are playing real hard right now so anything less than winning 2/3 would be a big surprise

Cards get more in the 2nd, a double to Jay who owns BABIP at home, Wild Pitch, Walk, Wild Pitch runner to second, RBI ground out to make it 6-1 with SS boots the ball with infield in but still gets the runner at 1st but gives up the runner to 3rd. flair single to left to make it 7-1 and Molina hits a HR to make it 9-1 Cardinals with 1 out in the 2nd.

I am surrounded by Cards fans, but hey, I am/do root for them. Anyhoos, I joked with them at work, that after they sweep the gNats, both our teams can rest our starters, and see what the future has in store.... they liked the idea...

Rooting for Washington today. Not only so the Cardinals miss the playoffs but I also would just rather play SF.
