View Full Version : Reds vs. Pirates Saturday 9/29

Who Dey Time

A Reds would guarantee a 20th straight losing season for the Pirates. Anything bad that happens to the city of Pittsburgh makes me happy...

Valdez 4
Cozart 6
Votto 3
Rolen 5
Bruce 9
Heisey 7
Navarro 2
Stubbs 8
Leake 1

Stubbs will end his AB without a HR. He's at 145, he won't make it to 150. Also will hit a double to break his streak of 131 AB without a double.

61 strikeouts since his last HR

2/4 HR, 2B, 2 runs, 2 RBI, 2 SB

texasdave

Maybe Stubbs wears down.

2012 from 8/09 on:

One double.
One triple.
Four RBIs.
Four Stolen Bases (You cannot steal if do not get on base.)
11 Runs Scored (He can find his away around the bases.)
.169 BA
.221 OBP
.191 SLG (Yes. Some people will try to tell you that Stubbs has power.)
.412 OPS
57 Ks in 147 PA (A staggering 39% of the time.)

Andy Roddick, sporting the wishbone c, has hopped on board the Cincinnati Reds Runaway Train. Brooklyn Decker doesn't need a cap or a ticket or. If these two are attending Reds' home games, the howl suddenly makes a lot more sense.

This team will be eliminated in the first round if they don't. It is looking like we will be playing the first 2 games in San Francisco. It is going to be a major hurdle to come home with even 1 win from SFO. We very well could be down 2-0 before a ball is thrown at GABP.

Ironman92

We're gonna have to win 3-2 and 2-1 games to advance in the playoffs.

Fall weather, better pitchers to face and big parks.....not good for free-swinging HR hitters. We don't take a lot of walks, struggle to bunt and don't steal much....gonna need some 3 hit innings mixed in with whatever home runs we get.

4-6: If a poster makes 2 consecutive predictions for the Reds which are found to be incorrect, that poster is given a 1 inning suspension from making predictions.

Ironman you need to officially stop making predictions as per rule 4.6 in forum posting rules.

4-6: If a poster makes 2 consecutive predictions for the Reds which are found to be incorrect, that poster is given a 1 inning suspension from making predictions.

As you have already made a post for the botttom of the ninth, I am not sure how this rule applies.

Good post! Quality work!

Bruce is fine. I never understood why people got down on him. I see him as the Reds second best hitter and on the verge of being a top 20- top 15 player in baseball. (If he is not already there.)

Top 15?

Sweet Jesus man.

Already about 3 times in this game could Billy Hamilton have been the top option.

I wish Spier would have batted for Valdez in the top of the last inning. If he wasnt going to let Brandon bat, at least let Henry Rodriguiez hit for him.. he can play 2nd!!! Man i wish this offense would start hitting before the post season starts..This offense is bad right now

You know what though (save last year), most post-season games are low scoring - great pitching games. The Reds only need a couple of bats to get hot: Bruce can hit good pitching and he is due. Votto can hit good pitching. I think there are some guys on the Reds team that are capable of hitting good pitchers. Even though I will probably get laughed at, I will say who they are:
Votto
Bruce
Phillips
Heisey
Frazier
Navarro
Maybe Rolen

You only need a couple of guys to get hot. Everybody is going to have guys with good numbers on their team. The question is, what can you do when you play against the great pitchers. I think the Reds have some guys that can hit good pitchers.
