Personally,

If the reds don't make it (which I pray isn't the case), then I'm going like this.

1. Oakland A's-Flipping the Middle Finger to teams like the Red Sox, Dodgers, and Yanks is always refreshing. Plus they have good guys on that team that seem genuinely awesome and fun to watch

2. Baltimore O's-Fan of Mr. Buck Showalter, and I really like the makeup of there team, and there franchise. Plus they haven't been sucessful in so long, so it'd be nice to show up the Yanks and The Red Sux.

God forbid the Whiney Little Birds win again. We'll never hear them shutup about it. ...

Yankees would be a snoozefest if they win....

The Giants just won the world series in 2010.....

The Tigers, well, there ego's can't get much bigger with Fielder and Triple Crown winner Mr. Cabrera can it?

The Nationals? I would be okay to some extent. I don't hate them by any means..but there a talented team..and should be dominant for the next 5 years if everyone stays healthy....i would prefer if the white sheep teams won first.

So yeah. There's my top 3: The Reds, The A's, and The O's..and to some extent, worse case scenario, The Nats.

I'm pulling for the A's. You gotta love a team roster filled with rookies, wannabe's, has-beens and misfits that show the Junkies (oops I mean Yankees) they just wasted $200 million.

BUT I'll settle for any team except the Cards.

If the Reds go out I won't care anymore and will shift 99% of my attention to football.

IMHO...There are no other teams.....its Reds first and only.

Picking the Reds to lose, is bad carma, and she doesn't play nicely.

Since the Reds WILL win it all this is purely hypothetical. But if the Reds don't win it, I would like to see Baltimore beat St. Louis in the World Series. Nothing says World Champions like two fifth-best teams battling it out.

I also think the basis of this poll to be a bit sacrilegious but will play along anyway :beerme:

Nats. Simply because they play where I'm based and, much aside from that, they deserve the followership. A humble, young team that plays the way the game should be played. In a town very deserving of this team after decades in baseball Siberia. Can live in a place with a chronically bad team--that's one thing. Living in a place where the team was stolen or fled...twice...is a different matter.

However, so there's no mistake, should the two teams face each other, I'll be attending and watching wearing all Reds garb while hoping for a sweep.

Also, a bit miffed why O's and A's dwarf all the others on this thread? A's deserve the support I guess; for lots of obvious reasons whose obverse cause me to hate the Yankees. But the O's? I'm less than 100 miles from Camden Yards. See games there a couple of times each year. Good for them but...yawn sleep:

When you root for a small-market team, you naturally pull for other underdog playoff teams.

If the Reds are out, I won't really care. Well, unless the Cards are still in it. Then whomever the Cards are playing.

I'd go for either the Giants (I don't usually mind when the team you lost to goes all the way) or the Orioles (it's always nice to see a tough luck small-market city and ballclub have some good fortune for a change)

Just remember, Orioles fans are also Ravens fans.

Oakland...the only reason is I want Cespedes to get a ring, forget the small market screw big market crap.

Cespedes gets a ring, Oakland trades him for stubbs, and some others.

I wanna hear Sailing Away when the final out is called.

Of course only if the Reds are knocked out.
I chose the 1990 rematch to occur.

I want the Reds to face NY in the Series. For me the 1990 rematch is much less interesting than a 1976 rematch. Though, the way Oakland is playing right now, I'm sure many in the bay area are calling cardiologists. Great game over there now (4-4 top of 9th with lots of twists and turns) but can't watch it too much anymore with Nats on now. Go Reds. Go Gio.

This. Being an NL guy, I would cheer for the NL in the series (even if it is the Cards), but I probably wouldn't watch. Once the Reds are finished it is Football Season.

I voted no one else, as I simply wont care. Most of my attention will turn to football, and then college basketball around the corner. I guess if I ad to pick another team I wanted to win, its the Tigers, as thats my dads favorite team so would want it for him. But I doubt I woudl pay much attnetion otherwise if it got to that point.
