Probably figured most of the listeners needed Furman to translate for them :mooner:Quote:

Sounds like someone needs to make the new ownership, with rumors of a captive set up ala the Cardinals, aware of this poor programming decision.Quote:

I didn't think of it either, but for those of us who wanted the new GM to be on the podium at Castellini's presser last Friday, this is why not. The Reds would face a stiff fine from MLB if the hiring guidelines (read: a documented process that includes minority candidates) are not followed, and obviously, Castellini could only make unofficial contacts until he was approved as the new owner.Quote:
The search for a permanent general manager will begin immediately, and the club will adhere to the interview process guidelines established by Major League Baseball.
Yaaargh, Raisor! Have ye some doubloons.

The Cincinnati Enquirer now has an online poll asking if the Reds made the right decision in firing O'Brien. The last time I checked, the vote was 41-3 in support of the firing, a 93% approval rate. I'm guessing Rich Aurilia has only voted three times so far.
Not only did WLW not play much of the conference, but they haven't even mentioned that he mentioned sabermetrics or anything else. They are being extremely irresponsible about this situation and showing poor journalistic methods.
BTW, it sounds to me that Castellini is looking for someone who is of the same mold as Walt Jocketty. I like that. A lot.
One was Aurilia, one was Jason Romano, the other was Eric Milton.Quote:
