Tell everyone thanks for all the support. ihad a lot of fun with this adventure and it was nice to know people were behind me regardless of whether i was healthy or hurt. i also wish i could have made the reds investment in me worth it and i feel like i let them down, but i did everything i possibly could and my arm just couldn’t come around. the reds have been great to me the whole time though. as for my future, i’m really excited about the next phase of my life. i applied to harvard business school and am pursuing a chemical engineering job with a start up tattoo ink company called freedom 2 ink. they created the product that i’ve had the idea for since college but hadn’t been able to act on because of baseball, so now i at least can possibly join in their entrepreneurial adventure. could be fun, but i know for a fact it won’t be as fun as playing ball. i might even keep throwing too. who knows. thanks again.

He will do very well with whatever he does. He is VERY smart. Princeton grad in chem engineering I believe.

I'm generally not a fan of pulling up old random threads, but I couldn't figure out a better place to put this little tidbit.
I noticed Detroit cutting David Pauley and it made me wonder about what Thomas Pauly is doing. I saw this thread and another about him in 2007 after he was coming back from various surgeries.
I found him on LinkedIn where he's working at a capital management company in Jacksonville, but besides listing his current title was this under former employment: Pitcher / Rehab Specialist at Cincinnati Reds.

Left-handed pitcher Matt Fairel was released last week.

Wow. I thought he and Sulbaran were the sleepers from that draft. Didn't see them releasing him so soon.
Its crowded with journeyman in the high minors, so there will probably be more.
Re: Reds sign a bunch, release Pauly and Rojo
He's coming back from injury and must have just not had it still. That's just my guess.
Re: Reds sign a bunch, release Pauly and Rojo
FYI, you posted these latest updates in an old thread I pulled forward about Thomas Pauly. You may want to move the notes over to this year's update thread. Sorry, didn't mean to cause any confusion.

Matt Klinker, one of the good guys, retired from baseball.
Re: Reds sign a bunch, release Pauly and Rojo
I talked to him a few times. He was a good guy. I wonder if Reds had told him they were cutting him loose.

I saw him pre-injury and was not impressed. After that point I was never high on him.

The Westchester Buzz did a piece on his retirement. Good article.
