His injury history really kills his value on all these rankings.
Just read in Buckeye's thread that Votto was considered the 3rd best 1B in the minors in 2006. That worked out OK.
With Bruce in Right and either Stubbs or Heisey in Center, they could cheat towards Alonso. His bat may eventually force itself into Left Field no matter how he ends up playing the position.
If he continues to hit, his trade value will continue to rise.
A trade is much more likely than a switch to LF. I know it won't happen, but if I am Votto I move off 1B to LF to get away from a stacked position in the NL (Albert, Fielder, Adrian, Howard) Up and comers in Sanchez, Wallace, Davis and possibly Posey as well as guys who could be their teams only All Star Rep in Dunn and LaRoche. It would lock down him as an easy All Star and gives the team more flexiblity. Add in Mesoraco and Grandal possibly at 3B in a couple years:
2012 looks good...
Alonso
Phillips
Rolen/Francisco
Cozart/Janish
Votto
Stubbs
Bruce
Mesoraco
Not gonna happen though.
Not sure which Yonder thread to put this in:

Interesting piece on his baserunning in there as well as the hitting/fielding.
