The Official Clay Zavada Thread

Clay Zavada has the best mustache in baseball. John Axford? Take a hike. On top of that, Zavada is already the best pitcher in Reds history, and they are incredibly fortunate to have obtained him on a minor league contract. I can only assume that he will make at least $20M/year once he makes the team this spring, but honestly, he deserves more. However, he's a team player, and I'm sure he would prefer for his salary to be spread around to help keep everyone in the organization happier.
Everyone, this is a thread devoted to Clay Zavada. Please treat it as such. We love you, Clay.

Re: The Official Clay Zavada Thread
I've heard, because he's such a great guy, Zavada allows other guys to get hits off him.
Until they tick him off.
Then, the moustache takes over.
Re: The Official Clay Zavada Thread
Just saw that, in 2008, Zavada, old for the Midwest League at 24, pitched 35.1 innings and gave up 6 hits. A WHIP of 0.311. With 54 K's and 5 BBs. I'll take some of that. That curls my mustache, and I don't even have one.

Will Clay Zavada win the Cy Young Award this year? I don't know. Probably. But here's what I do know: Clay Zavada is going to take us on the best mustache ride we've ever experienced, and I can't wait!
Re: The Official Clay Zavada Thread
For safety reasons Zavada will never be allowed to pitch to Corky Miller, not even in Spring Training, because a battery containing that much mustache awesomeness may be enough to knock the earth off of its axis.
Re: The Official Clay Zavada Thread
This could, and should, be the longest thread in Redszone history. Move over Erik Bedard!

Re: The Official Clay Zavada Thread
Both Zavada and Mahay were signed by the Reds on the same day.
They both have the same birthday (June 28).
They are both from small towns in Illinois (both SW of Chicago, about 90 miles apart).
Now Mahay just needs to rock the handlebar 'stache this year and the Mayans just might have been onto something.

Mods, could we please get this thread closed? I just found out that good-for-nothing traitor signed with the Cardinals.
