Is there really going to be a new thread everytime Votto hits a BP homer?

We should keep all of these posts to one "Joey Votto hits homeruns in BP" thread. ;)
Re: Votto calls shot in BP
When are the "Votto hits a double in BP" threads going to start? I can't wait.
Re: Votto calls shot in BP
It was just a batting practice home run, but at least it was against a real pitcher throwing from a mound at full speed. It wasn't a situation like the pre-game BP where you have a coach tossing lightly from 40 feet to help a hitter get warmed up for that evening's game. I think it is a good sign that Votto can generate the power to take a real pitcher over the fence. I am not sure he could have done that last September. So I take this as a positive sign, but a minor one.
Re: Votto calls shot in BP
Votto was seen at the Goodyear Starbucks ordering a Grande Non Fat, no foam vanilla latte.
He is in mid-season form.

Not to nitpick, but he'd actually need less power, or strength, to take a full-speed pitch deep than he would a BP pitch. That said, I see your point.
Re: Votto calls shot in BP
I mean, let's be real. What's more impressive, Ruth's called shot against the CUBS, or Votto's called shot off of Spring Training Pitcher X? No brainer in my opinion.

Maybe. You could be right. I think you can jerk a slow BP meatball out with a big roundhouse arm-swing without using your legs. When facing a real pitcher you have to use your whole body. Either way, hitting the homer off a real pitcher is a better sign than taking Chris Speier deep from 40 feet.

This...also, Cantreras can throw in the upper 90's...not that he is now, but who knows.
This means about nothing as a whole, but definitely not bad news.:beerme:

Contreras would strike out Ruth.
