What are you going to do? Bench him? You work with him and he's got to hit his way out of this slump.

This is the important part to remember.

Outside of his recent gaffes, he's been pretty good hasn't he?

The Reds have such a weak bench, its really amazing that they've won so many games w/out Votto. Now with Rolen's back acting up, it's even worse.

Bruce has a great arm. That's about all I can say about his D in right field.

Can he be worked with.?? Does not look like it to me. This is quintessential jay bruce. He has not changed since being in a reds uniform. He has not evolved...not one iota...
Re: 8/9/2012 Reds vs Baby Bears
Valbuena singles over 2nd
Jackson K's
Re: 8/9/2012 Reds vs Baby Bears
Well, I'm with The Operator. Outside of that 1 week or so, I'm not seeing how Bruce's D is anything less than stellar.

Generally overrated.
Re: 8/9/2012 Reds vs Baby Bears
Well we have our whipping boy for the stretch run. Nice to have that out of the way.

Agreed. Everybody will have a bad game here and there, but overall he's a VERY good defender, toss in that arm and he's top notch.
Re: 8/9/2012 Reds vs Baby Bears
I wondered when he'd get tossed.
Re: 8/9/2012 Reds vs Baby Bears
Clevenger tossed for calling balls and strikes on 1-2.
Castillo in, and he K's.
