We are in a pennant race Feelings are going to be hurt. But not Brandon's. LOL.
Re: 9-8-10. Reds @ Rockies
Cook seems to always eat the Reds up. Probably because they love to swing and hit right into his game plan.

Wow! He was awful yesterday but that's pretty harsh.

Why should Brandon not be playing?
Re: 9-8-10. Reds @ Rockies
Brandon needs to get back in his element instead of trying to be someone he isnt. When he swings harder it makes his swing longer and makes his bat slower. I dont know if he just doesnt know that or just doesnt care, but it kills his stroke when he sees a fastball and goes "OH IM GONNA CRUSH THAT" in his mind.

You would think a coach might notice then. Maybe they have spoken to Brandon and he just ignores them. Sounds about right to me.

Honestly I wouldnt be surprised if its a mix of both. Brandon has pride and wants to stick it to people and it doesnt work for most players.
Re: 9-8-10. Reds @ Rockies
Brandon is whom Brandon is and he is not going to change. He will be with the Reds for another season or two then traded off when his production doesn't equal his value, but right now he is the best option at 2nd that we have.
Re: 9-8-10. Reds @ Rockies
I'm not giving up on Brandon Phillips, but the guy is struggling bigtime right now. We need him to be the player he was prior to the all-star break, but ever since the STL series last month, he's been playing far, far below that level. I don't understand why Dusty is so reluctant to stick Valaika in there for another game or two, after the way he performed during Brandon's absence.
