Re: Justin Turner sighting
He did get called up by the Orioles at the beginning of September. I don't have all his stats handy but I know he did very well for them in the minors so they brought him up to see what he could do at the major league level.

Re: Justin Turner sighting
Nice step forward from Waring -- an increase in walks and a decrease in strikeouts -- from 8.5% & 31.0% to 9.4% & 22.7%. I don't remember how well he plays 3B, but that's a jump from suspect to legit prospect with the bat.
Turner hit .300/.362/.388 in AAA. Not sure he's going to be much more than a 25th man type. With Sutton and Richar around, there clearly wasn't room for him in Cincy.
Re: Justin Turner sighting
I will take Justin Turner over Danny Richar 10 times out of 10

Waring was once considered the best defensive 3B in the MWL, but it was pretty faint praise at the time since no one stood out at the time. At this point, he's considered more of a 1B than a 3B. He was also slightly older than most of the pitchers he had success against.

Sounds like he could be an Aubrey Huff type...

I'd bet a lot of money that he won't ever become anything like that.

Don't forget our freedom from Ryan Freel. :O)
And I'd actually like to see Hernandez brought back (for cheaper of course). He was surprisingly good defensively and after a slow start, he started showing signs of his old hitting before the injuries mounted.
