The highest-rated players (by our poll) who weren't included, not counting guys like Mesoraco, Cozart and Frazier who are effectively big-leaguers now:
#10 Henry Rodriguez
#12 Juan Duran
#14 Gabriel Rosa
#21 Tim Crabbe
#22 Andrew Brackman (probably falls into the Mesoraco group)
#23 Amir Garrett (doesn't really apply, since basketball just ended)
#25 Donnie Joseph
#26 Sean Buckley (hurt?)
#27 Junior Arias
#28 Josh Smith
#30 Drew Cisco (hasn't pitched yet as a pro)
Lowest-rated player included:
#35 Drew Hayes
Edit -- Correction: Devin Lohman and Mark Fleury are not ranked in our top 49.

RT @strunkdafied why do you think Henry Rodriguez isn't on the futures roster?//Scratched from yesterday's game after being hit by a pitch.

Well, if the roster on the Blaze website is to be believed, and it certainly adds up to the right number of players and none of the guys are on any other rosters, odds are he isn't ready to begin the season for one reason or another.

Hopefully it's a minor injury or brief personal issue. Worst case scenario would be a major suspension that they're trying to keep on the down low.

You can't really keep that on the down low all that long.

Hopefully not, but we didn't find out about Correa's situation until July of last year. Until then, it seemed like he had dropped off the face of the earth.
Is there a chance he could be headed to extended spring training to work on cutting down his strikeouts? Or would we have heard about that by now?

Some of us had heard about an issue with Correa in the spring.
He wouldn't be staying back to work on something like that. They would have just kept him in Dayton again if it were something like that.

So who's going down to this game tonight?

I will be there. Right behind the 'visitors' dugout.
Re: Reds Announce Futures Roster
Just bought tickets, taking the family down. Expect to take in both batting practices. We'll be sitting in the bleachers.
