Looks like they're bringing it back - per those "in the know" over at the Bond site:

Have to say I was skepticle about casino royale and I ended up being blown away. I give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Awesome I can't wait. Thanks for that link kitty.
So cool. Thanks, Kitty.
Somehow, I went all the way until a month ago without seeing Casino Royale. Absolutely loved it, my favorite movie that I've seen in years. Really excited for this one.
The official Bond site has been updated with the trailer, wallpapers, photos and info galore.
Looks fantastic and I can't wait for it

They're reporting that the title song for the 22nd James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" has been confirmed as "Another Way To Die" by Jack White and Alicia Keys.
I saw it for the first time back in June and thought it was trying too hard to ape the Bourne films. I love the Bourne films, but I didn't love seeing them wrapped around James Bond. I also really missed Q (the character, not just John Cleese) and the focus on gadgets.
I didn't care much for the Bourne films, but that's probably because they just took the name of a character from the Ludlum books and made completely different stories from what the books were. It all started kind of the same with Bourne being fished out of the sea and not knowing who he was, but that's about where the similarities with the books ended.
Casino Royale seemed grittier to me and very much in the spirit of the original character as written by Flemming. I enjoyed it for that reason. The lack of gadgets made the film more real in a way.
