Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #24 & 25
Ismael Guillon and Tyler Mahle won handily in the last 2 spots. Pitchers have come up with 4 of the last 5 polls. There are still some players, both pitchers and position guys, with great upsides and tools. Lets vote on the next two spots.

Re: Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #24 & 25
Still going with Aquino and Rosa. Going with the guys who have star potential over some "could be solid" guys.
Re: Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #24 & 25
Still Partch for me. Sad that Sean Buckley fell so far that he is not even missed as a voting option.
Re: Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #24 & 25
Rosa and Chacin. Still like Rosa's athleticism and I like Chacin's numbers and Doug's comment about the liveness of his fastball.

Yea, I forgot about Partch in the last vote, but I agree. Decent chance of being a solid reliever. That puts him ahead of the remaining longshots.
If Partch can improve on his control, he could be a dominating setup guy.

Rahier and Thompson for me.
Re: Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #24 & 25
I'm going with Kevin Garcia and Reydel Medina. Garcia performed and the Reds paid a decent amount for Medina.
Re: Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #24 & 25
Juan Duran IMO is clearly the best prospect at this point, if only for trade value to the AL as a DH.
Best power in the organization, had a good year at A+. Put on forty man roster by Reds. Still young.
One thing he lacks is anonymity. For this poll sometimes it"s better to be unknown with no track record and no known warts. Also Juan has been criticized a lot on RedsZone, so he's not a fashionable pick.
But i'm going with Juan.

Armstrong and Constante. Thompson and Medina and Lamarre are blipping my radar screen.

+1
I think Juan Duran will break out in a big way in 2014 as well.

Jonathan Reynoso's stock sure has fallen . . .
Re: Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #24 & 25
I am very confused right now. Are people voting for Constante just because of his name recognition? The guy walked 5.1 batters per 9 innings in the Dominican Summer League. If he threw enough innings to qualify, which he didn't, that would have been the 4th worst rate in the entire league. And, he is old for that league.
I am all for going upside on guys playing in the states, but this was a 19-year-old playing in the Dominican who walked a ton of guys.

See, I think that's where it gets kind of iffy going with rates (or percentages) in small sample sizes. We're talking about a total of 22 walks. Over 38.2 innings, a reasonable number would be, say, around 14. So we're gonna dismiss a guy over 8 extra walks in his debut season? And neglect the fact that he struck out 55 in those 38.2 innings? And had a 1.82 ERA? And throws left-handed at 6-foot-4? And was considered a significant signing? I get not voting for him, but I don't get the confusion.

Dismiss him, absolutely not. Rank him ahead of guys with considerable upside who performed stateside though? Or rank him ahead of guys who have gotten results at the AA level? I just can't do it. Constante has some stuff, but he isn't Jeremy Kivel or Robert Stephenson or even Amir Garrett. I just can't see ranking him that high when he showed, even in a small sample size, a gigantic wart on his resume.
I really don't think people understand just how poor a 5.1 BB/9 in the DSL is. That would be something around 7 in the AZL. And it is coming from a guy who was older than most of the guys he faced.
