Mini-Series that should be stretched into full series
Sci-fi Channel has two that came to mind for me. I just watched the Lost Room again this weekend. It was set up perfectly to continue as a series, plenty of unanswered questions and a few dangling plot devices. Plus about 100 more objects. Great mini.
I also liked Tin Man except for the ending. But Oz has a wonderful history to it that could be adapted for current times.

Can we include the flip side: full-length series that should have been mini-series?
"Heroes" comes to mind.

I think Heroes started to get a bit convoluted. Hopefully the extended break from the writer's strike helps the story.

IIRC I remember seeing something from one of the founders of the show who admitted the 2nd season was botched and they needed to do a much better job.

As I said, I had just watched the Lost Room again over the weekend. That was a FANTASTIC mini. great cast. decent effects, but the story and the look are what won me over.
I'd rather see it than Dr. Who cares.

Lost does as well.
