Re: So, old people on this board, how do you deal knowing you will die soon?
I've got a lot of conditions that could kill me, but I do what the doctor says and don't worry about it. The key is to have interest in something else. I enjoy my family, sports, reading, theater, and work. It's not about how long I will be around, it's about living while I am here.

I'm in my 40s now, been married almost nine years. Yes I'm old, but I'm still younger than Chip.

I'm 43, turning 44 this year. Aging doesn't scare me. What scares me is getting old alone. I was married for 13 years without having kids. I haven't remarried and don't have kids, and I know if that situation continues I'm not facing old age by myself.
That said, I'm not even close to old yet. My eyesight might be getting worse by the year and aches and pains don't disappear quickly like they used to, but I'm loving life. I'm actually planning on moving to California next year, as I've visited a few times and not having any real ties where I am, I figure why not go? It'll be a blast.
