Re: 8/27/12 - Reds @ D-Backs
Let's hope Brox has his good fastball and his sinker going tonight.
Let's also hope Chapman is getting ready as soon as possible.

I think some people are taking missing bats to an extreme religion these days. It's been proven that you can be successful without striking guys out at a prodigious pace. All things being equal, I like guys that miss bats too. But I also like guys that keep the ball down.

This was the best I could do.

One frame prior and his toe is still on the bag with the ball in the glove.

Pretty good and decisive to me. Good thing there wasn't a perfect game on the line.

I'll admit it was a lot closer than I originally thought. I still think he was safe.

Hoover both misses bats and has shown to be quite capable in high pressure situations.
I'll take that.

Brilliant play by Phillips!

Classic Brandon Phillips.

Just give him the gold glove now.

I like Hoover. Make no mistake, I'm not trying to diminish him. I just think Broxton is a heck of a lot better than he's given credit for, despite him no longer striking out 12 batters per nine.
