Saw Trek yesterday. Fun movie, but I've had enough nuTrek now.

Now Quantum of Solace is on. My problem with this movie is the action scenes are both filmed poorly and edited poorly. And the intro to the movie is so un-Bond movie like. Terrible attempt for a pop song.
The one thing I like about the movie is Olga Kurylenko. She is hot.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I think Quantum of Solace is great--nearly as good as Casino Royale.
Also: criticism of Jack White is strictly prohibited...

Good lord this movie looks amazing. This is the new trailer for Man of Steel. Zod is INSANE looking. So pumped up about this movie. On a side note, Hans Zimmer could compose a sound track to a chess tournament and make it sound epic.

I really didn't have a problem with the action in Quantum of Solace. It was more how nonthreatening the villain was. His dastardly plan was to take over water rights in South America. That truly puts fear in the heart of men.

What's so scary about the villain in Casino Royale?

Saw Olympus has Fallen the other day and I absolutely loved it. Lots good action in my opinion. Sure it was just an action movie without much thinking to it, but great none the less. Anyone else seen it yet?

First, Dredd never takes off the helmet and that pretty much wipes out the bad taste of the Stallone flick. Urban, in his best Eastwood snarl, performed Dredd's character really well. As an actor, it was probably the worse role to be put in, having to convey emotion (or in Dredd's case lack there of) w/o use of the eyes. You really get the feel of the hopelessness of the Mega-City One's future - the vast wasteland. Despite that, most of the action scenes are in the Peach Trees so it feels just as claustrophobic with the judges trying to get out. Hopefully, there will be a sequel, but just like John Carter, the disappointing box office might have doomed it.
To my surprise I really enjoyed this flick. One of my favorite movies was Die Hard and this movie takes a page out of that book. Most action movies today with any kind of budget seems to be made with the priority being to outsmart the last big action movie. A simple plot with good, believable action mixed in with some humor that's not overbearing, leading up to a big showdown seems too much to ask for these days from action movies but Dredd does a pretty good job of delivering just that.

He was awesome and he was funding international terrorism.
EDIT: and he's also Hannibal Lecture now. Gives him 5 more points in the awesome quotient.
