Minor League Top Prospects
In another thread someone brought up the question of if you had 5 picks of the entire Minor Leagues, who would you take for the future of your baseball team. I thought it might be a fun little topic to start on its on and see who some of you guys would take, in order if you had 10 picks, 5 pitchers and 5 position players, who would they be and in what order?
Re: Minor League Top Prospects
10 players.
5 pitchers:
1. Homer Bailey (CIN)
2. Phillip Hughes (NYY)
3. Matt Garza (MIN)
4. Adam Miller (CLE)
5. Ubaldo Jimenez (COL)
5 Hitters.
1. Delmon Young (TB)
2. Evan Longoria (TB)
3. Brandon Wood (LAA)
4. Alex Gordon (KC)
5. Jay Bruce (CIN)
Whoops, I'm a moron. I didn't read your post correctly. Let me go back and do what I should have done from the beginning.
Re: Minor League Top Prospects
Jay Bruce
Evan Longoria
Delmon Young
Brandon Wood
Cameron Maybin
Pitchers
Homer Bailey
Philip Hughes

Alex Gordon
Brandon Wood
Delmon Young
Jay Bruce
Cameron Maybin
Homer Bailey
Phillip Hughes
Yovani Gollardo
Matt Garza
Scott Elbert
Re: Minor League Top Prospects
Positional players
1. Delmon Young - OF
2. Brandon Wood - SS/2B
3. Justin Upton - OF
4. Jay Bruce - OF
5. Cameron Maybin - OF
Pitchers
1. Homer Bailey
2. Philip Hughes
3. Matt Garza
4. Yovani Gollardo
5. Kyle Drabek
Now I know I took a big leap of faith with Drabek, but after seeing him pitch, he has absolutely disgusting stuff, he has the pedigree and I just like what he brings to the table. He hasnt been overly impressive like some other pitchers drafted this year, but thats ok. I like his upside.

Homer Bailey
Phillip Hughes
Humberto Sanchez
Matt Garza
Scott Elbert
Billy Butler
Alex Gordon
Jay Bruce
Evan Longoria
Troy Tulowitzi
Re: Minor League Top Prospects
I didn't go for the highest ceiling guys (ie. Upton, Young, Maybin), I chose players that have good ceilings and have proven themselves.
Re: Minor League Top Prospects
Pitchers:
1) Garza
2) Hughes
3) Bailey
4) Adenhart
5) Elbert
Hitters:
1) Delmon Young

Re: Minor League Top Prospects
cincyinco, Drew is in the majors currently....but I will let you slide:)
Re: Minor League Top Prospects
Arms:
1) Bailey
2) Hughes
3) Garza
4) Hirsh
5) Hochevar
Bats:
1) Wood
2) Gordon
3) Longoria
4) Bruce
5) Maybin
No Young b/c he might end up killing an ump one day.
No Butler b/c he might be a DH.
No Upton(s) b/c Justin isn't doing much and BJ has attitude probs and fielding issues. Though I might have a 'tude if I was still in the minors and I was him.
Bruce over Maybin...Cincy pride, baby.
Tabata got some votes, but I have a hard time believing he's that young.
Adenhart has injury questions.
Not that I wouldn't mind having those guys, just giving some color on my decisions.
Re: Minor League Top Prospects
Well BJ also wouldnt be available, since he is in Tampa Bay right now.
