Narron on the pregame show (which is coming up) kind of called out the bullpen. He basically says they have to pitch well. If they don't and they find themselves getting the boot, it's nobody's fault but their own.
He also said last night almost made him vomit.

I think he's losing patience. Lord knows we all have.
I personally think they should get rid of Merker and/or Weathers before Hammond. No doubt they all should be gone, but Hammond had been pitching relatively well until his last 2 outtings. Merker badly lacks on out pitch. He'll run the count 0-2 on someone and they will foul off 5 pitches before getting a hit. And Weathers, well, I'm just tired of his 87MPH fast ball.
Chris Hammond got a hold in the third game against KC, even though he had three earned runs in one-third of an inning.
Though I am sure Hammond is a nice guy, I hope his backside is not injured when the door strikes him.
Heard the interview. He didn't directly tie the vomit to the bullpen per se, but he did say that losing the lead gave him an "empty feeling".
That's still more direct than what he's said in the past, true. The second segment was a little stronger- he said that if somebody's not doing the job, they're gone and they don't have anyone to blame but themselves.
Mercker's not going anywhere for a while at least- he's making 2.5 times what Hammond was.

LaRue could play the outfield on an emergency basis. He was drafted as an outfielder.
Do we have Vegas odds on Mercker and Weathers yet as next to go.

You beat me to it, White and Hammond didnt make alot so it makes it easier to cut them and eat the contract. Lower paid guys are easier to make examples of see Hancock, Josh.
Amazing what an extension will do for a guy's confidence.Quote:

I think it's great that the Reds are doing what they need to do improve the things they need to improve in order to win down the road (this season and on). However, I expected a bit more from Reds fans in the way this is all celebrated than I should have, I guess.
