I just got home from the game. And while I never like seeing the Reds lose, watching a game in Minute Maid park is a pleasure. The fans are cordial, the atmosphere is pleasant and the ballpark is just really nice to watch a game from. We got there early for BP and got to chat a bit with Jay Bruce. This was his first game in Houston and I was pleasantly surprised by the large turnout he got. I saw a TON of "Bruce Almighty" t-shirts all over the place, "Welcome Home Jay" signs, etc. My daughter got an autograph on a ball from him and I was asking him how it feels to play back near his home and he said he was actually a little bit nervous. There were easily 30-40 people along the 3rd base line during BP all waiting to chat with him. It was kinda cool. We also got to shake Ross's hand and Edwin's. All in all, it was a really nice evening. Would've been better had we won...but you can't have everything. I've got a few nice photos from BP...you can see them here if you want to.
For those of you who are saying that they hate this ballpark...you've got to visit it first. Yes, it's asymetric...but it's still one of the nicest parks I've ever been to. Just thought I'd share our visit. :O)
Heard on WLW radio.....
Damn that Adam Dunn! The Reds haven't won with him in the lineup, it's time to try something different.
