Thanks. I usually assume Yankees guys to be wrong tbh but that time I was getting steamed.
Re: Reds vs. Yankees Friday 5/18
You guys realize how much our bullpen has been worked lately right? We kinda had to ride with Arroyo late into this game.
But typical Arroyo, when it goes wrong it's 3 runs in 3 minutes.

Doesn't really matter though.
This team is going nowhere.
Cards can mail it in and still win the division.
Re: Reds vs. Yankees Friday 5/18
I can see why Walt did't pursue the left handed hitting Ibanez for 1.1 million when he could sign the right handed hitting Ludwick for 2 million. Makes perfectly good sense.

Well he gave us 7+. Jose will work less than one inning in a worst case scenario. Could have been like Latos yesterday and really screwed us up.

Yeah, but you are forgetting the left handed hitting Willie Harris.

They still didn't get a run. This can't be on Baker alone.

I understand the desire to get everything you can from the starter. But Arroyo and 4th time through the lineup has never been good.

Oh I'm not blaming Arroyo. I think he was great today.
If it weren't for all of the short starts we've been getting lately he would have never even went out for the 8th.

We do not have above average players at short, third, left or center. Thats half the team.
Re: Reds vs. Yankees Friday 5/18
Bad hitting and struggling starters=a slump

Oh absolutely. But, we had a shot at 2-0 if Baker would have made the correct decision and taken Arroyo out after the HR and hit. That's a no brainer IMO. At 4-0 we have almost zero chance.

True, but with 20 games in 20 days, and with the short starts we've been constantly getting, you almost had to ride with Arroyo through 8 when he's pitching well.
With a lead Dusty might have done it differently, but since we were losing you have to try to get that pen rest.

Totally agree.
Baker pounded the final nails in tonite's coffin himself.
