That's the optimum lineup, offensively--and the first time I recall it. The bottom of the order has your top two home-run guys, back-to-back.
Kevin Goldstein mentioned a few Reds prospects in his minor league report today...
•Daniel Corcino, RHP, Reds (Low-A Dayton): 7 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 8 K. 20-year-old Dominican gave up 11 runs over 13.2 innings in his first three starts but has 1.48 ERA since; plus fastball, plus breaking ball and plus command is a wonderful combination.
•Zack Cozart, SS, Reds (Triple-A Louisville): 3-for-4, RBI, SB, CS. Yup, still hitting; .320/.363/.488 in 69 games.
•Yasmini Grandal, C, Reds (Double-A Carolina): 3-for-5, 2 2B, R, 2 RBI, K. Best game since last week's promotion to Double-A; 6-for-17 (.353) in five games.
•Ronald Torreyes, 2B, Reds (Low-A Dayton): 3-for-4, R, 2 RBI, 2 SB, CS. Small second baseman with big-time bat speed is 10-for-24 in first six games of the season.

Pretty amazing when there is no room for Chris Valaika in a AAA lineup...
475 (!!!!) foot HR for Hermida!
Bats & Braves tied at 1 after 2 innings
True, but he was a AAA all-star last year, and played with the Reds this season and last, so I think he is probably still considered a slumping player with potential rather then a bust. He does not deserve to be in this lineup now, but it is pretty amazing that there is no ROOM for him in a AAA lineup.
Yasmani Grandal is 1-for-1.
Phipps has hit his first home run of the year to tie the game for Carolina, 1-1 in Tennessee.
Yasmani Grandal is now 2-for-2 with a double and 3 RBI.
Neftali Soto is 1-for-2 with a 3-run HR (#10) and a walk. It's his 5th HR in his last six games.
Reincarnated Denis Phipps is 2-3 tonight.
