Don't ask the State College Spikes GM. Don't have a link to it now, but he mentioned not re-signing with Pirates because his team hasn't done well. He is short-season! I cringed when I read that.

I didn't realize Brian Peacock was on the disabled list, but Louisville activated him. As mentioned in other threads, Xavier Paul was called up, and Todd Redmond was optioned to AAA.
Baseball is still a business to most teams. Her is what they care about:
1. Relationship with their MLb counterpart
They like the MLB teams FO to visit and help out with promotions.
2. Make playoffs
Sometimes the home playoff dates can make a bad year a profitable year if they lost a lot of games due to the weather.
3. Send Top Prospects
Look at all the free publicity the Wahoos got with Hamilton running a 13.8. For the most part the Reds have spoiled the Wahoos this year.
4. Send players on Rehab
Sure distance plays a part but most players get to pick where they rehab and its up to the MLb team to make it happen.. Its why Mobile never got a decent player when they were affiliated with the Padres. Hoping Votto gets sent here lol.
Just thought I'd give a little update on Kris Negrón. He should be ready for Spring Training.
Zach Vincej reported to Billings.
The Reds signed Will Ohman and assigned him to Louisville. The German was released by the White Sox on July 3rd.
Pedro Villarreal was placed on the 7-day disabled list and the Reds have released left-handed pitcher Ryan Feierabend.

Reds Sign Will Ohman
By Zach Links [July 21 at 4:44pm CST]
The Reds have signed left-hander Will Ohman, according to Assistant Director of Media Relations Jamie Ramsey (via Twitter). The 34-year-old will report to Triple-A Louisville.
Ohman was released by the White Sox earlier this month after being designated for assignment. In 26 2/3 innings for Chicago, Ohman posted a 6.41 ERA with 4.4 K/9 and 1.7 BB/9. The veteran likely came to the Reds at a reasonable rate as he will collect on the $2.5MM owed to him on the backend of his two-year deal from the ChiSox.
Seems Cingrani got skipped in rotation. Anything up?
Billy Hamilton is not in the Pensacola lineup tonight?????
No Cingrani, no Hamilton-- let the freak-out begin.
I HATE the Trading Deadline. (And kinda love it too.)
