RedsZone's Top 20 Prospects
Well, we haven't had any ballots submitted in a few days, so let's put this puppy to bed. Here are the results of our voting for the spots after the top 10. Let me know if you see any glaring mistakes:
1. Homer Bailey
2. Jay Bruce
3. Joey Votto
4. Johnny Cueto
5. Travis Wood
6. Drew Stubbs
7. Chris Valaika
8. Sam LeCure
9. Milton Loo
10. Sean Watson
11. Paul Janish (59 points)
12. David Shafer (48 points)
13. Calvin Medlock (37 points)
14. Tyler Pelland (29 points)
15. Josh Hamilton (25 points)
16t. Josh Ravin (24 points)
16t. Cody Strait (24 points)
18. Justin Turner (16 points)
19. Jon Coutlangus (11 points)
20. Wirfin Obispo (9 points)
OTHERS: Dumatrait-8, Anderson & Dorn-6, Fisher & Lutz-5, Parker & Salmon-4, Gonzales & Gutierrez-2, Asadoorian, Guevara & Rosales- 1
BTW, Lollipopcurve was the only voter to name the same five that eventually finished 11-15, although he did it in slightly different order.
This has been fun. I know it's up to the mods as far as what gets archived, but it would be fun to go back and look at this in a year.
Re: RedsZone's Top 20 Prospects
I know everyone voted, but I wouldve like to seen Stubbs at no.4.

Ice if I ever win a major lotto I will buy you any car under a 100k to rid us of that hideous pic in your profile. It without a doubt has left an impression on me and oh it is not a pleasant one lol:eek: .
Re: RedsZone's Top 20 Prospects

Re: RedsZone's Top 20 Prospects
chicoruiz, thank you for doing this. It was a lot of fun and very interesting to see the results. I believe I have copied this thread over to the archives so we can review it at a later date and either praise or kick ourselves. Again, thanks for doing this.

He Gone
Re: RedsZone's Top 20 Prospects
Dumatrait now enters the top 20.
Which is odd because I expect Brad Salmon to make his Reds debut this year. At least I hope he does.
Re: RedsZone's Top 20 Prospects
Has the infielder from Baylor done much? Griffin?
Re: RedsZone's Top 20 Prospects
I'm very curious to see how this ranking compares to that of various "expert rankings".
Kevin Goldstein at BP ranks the Reds top 10 like this:
Excellent Prospects
1. Homer Bailey, RHP (RZ #1)
2. Jay Bruce, RF (RZ #2)
Very Good Prospects
3. Joey Votto, 1B (RZ #3)
Good Prospects
4. Drew Stubbs, CF (RZ #6)
5. Johnny Cueto, RHP (RZ #4)
6. Travis Wood, LHP (RZ #5)
7. Sean Watson, LHP (RZ #10)
Average Prospects
8. Milton Loo, SS/3B (RZ #9)
9. Chris Valaika, SS (RZ #7)
10. Paul Janish, SS (RZ #11)
I know a lot of us are BP fanatics, so our opinions are bound to be somewhat correlated, but I'd say we did a pretty good job :)
