There goes James Paxton to the Mariners. Great pick.
Re: The Official Second Day Draft Thread - 2010
The Reds have yet to draft a pitcher through four rounds. Remember how icehole always says the Reds should draft a pitcher in the first five rounds every year? Dude has probably already pulled his hair out by now.

Re: The Official Second Day Draft Thread - 2010
anyone got a report on Greens Defense at ss. I really like his bat
Re: The Official Second Day Draft Thread - 2010
John Stilson for Texas A&M is a Sophomore. Put up great numbers as a reliever. Looks like a late 1st round/sandwich pick talent for next year.
Re: The Official Second Day Draft Thread - 2010
Looks like he was a full time SS in high school but has only occasionally played at short in college. Mostly 2b it looks like.

Draft the arms.. Buy the bats

Re: The Official Second Day Draft Thread - 2010
I would guess they are avoiding HS players in the first 5 or 6 rounds to make sure the guys they get sign for slot. I am sure when drafting Grandal that this was probably the discussion.
But on the other hand, Dayton is going to have alot of high round talent, big name Latin American players as well as holdovers next year...

The D'backs, on the other hand, thru 4 rounds have drafted all pitchers
